Students’ request brings change to South Molton’s early bus

The changes are part of wider timetable adjustments across Stagecoach's South West network from Sunday, November 1, and have been developed with the support of Devon County Council.
Passengers travelling between South Molton and Exeter will no longer need to change buses at Tiverton on some weekday journeys from Monday, November 2, after requests from Exeter College students.
Stagecoach South West is introducing through journeys on Service 346/355, which it said would make travel easier for students and commuters.
In the morning, the existing 6.45am Monday to Friday departure from South Molton to Tiverton will leave 10 minutes earlier, at 6.35am. On arrival at Tiverton Bus Station, the bus will continue as the 7.30am Service 355 to Exeter, arriving at 8.35am.
In the afternoon, the 6.15pm Monday to Friday journey from Tiverton to Witheridge will be extended to South Molton. It will connect with the 5.05pm Service 355 from Exeter to Tiverton, so that passengers can stay on the same bus for the journey through to South Molton.
Stagecoach said the changes were designed to make journeys easier and more convenient, particularly for students travelling to Exeter College, and had been developed with the support of Devon County Council.
Peter Knight, managing director of Stagecoach South West, said: “We’re particularly pleased to be improving connections between South Molton and Exeter, making journeys simpler for students and other passengers by removing the need to change buses in Tiverton. These changes have been developed following feedback from Exeter College students, with support from Devon County Council.”
The change is part of wider timetable adjustments across Stagecoach’s South West network from Sunday, November 1. Passengers are encouraged to check the latest timetable at stagecoachbus.com before travelling.
