New signing for Bideford ABC
Bideford Amateur Boxing Club have an exciting new professional boxer under their ranks following the recruitment of Neo Judge from Torbay.
Manager Richard Grigg said: “We are proud to announce the signing of Neo Judge from Torbay. Judge had an amazing amateur career under the guidance of Darrell Asplen, who will continue to train him in the pro ranks.
As an amateur, Judge had 63 fights with 20 stoppages, along the way becoming two-time Haringey Box Cup Champion, three-time Riviera Box Cup Champion, Heart Of Dragon Box Cup Champion, NAGBC Finalist and two-time Elite Semi Finalist.
“Judge will compete in the Super Bantamweight division and we expect him to go on and win major titles. Thanks again to Neo and Darrell putting their trust in my management, it’s going to be an exciting journey.”
Bideford’s Billy Stanbury (13-0) is boxing for the English Title against Manchester’s William Crolla (10-1) on December 5 in Wolverhampton.
Trainer Grigg added: “A very proud moment as a trainer and a friend, Billy Stanbury gets his big break in Wolverhampton for the English Super Welterweight Title. Matchroom card, TV, Title fight and big name, everything he has worked so hard for.
“We have been a team since the amateurs, then starting on the small hall and now where he belongs on the best platform in the UK. The journey has not been easy and many setbacks along the way but Billy has always stayed consistent and worked towards his goal.
“This is not just Billy’s moment on the big stage, he is announcing himself and is here to stay, I believe he knocks William Crolla out and makes himself a big name in the division. Nobody deserves this more than Billy Stanbury.”
