The Bideford 10-Miler is another brilliant success in 2026

Bideford Amateur Athletic Club (AAC) is celebrating another successful staging of its popular Bideford 10 Mile race, welcoming runners from across the region for a day of competition, personal achievements and community spirit.

The event was a fantastic showcase for the club, with competitors of all abilities taking part, many achieving personal goals and enjoying the opportunity to race on a well-established local course.

Race organisers praised everyone who took part, while paying special tribute to the Race Director and the army of volunteers whose hard work and dedication helped make the event such a success.

There was also plenty to celebrate for the host club, with two Bideford AAC runners finishing inside the men's top ten. John O'Donoghue and Nick Lapham both produced excellent performances against a strong field.

The men's race was won by Christian Hewitt of Tiverton Harriers in an impressive 51 minutes 25 seconds. Phil Norman of Woodford Green AC finished second, with Jacob Landers of Tamar Trotters taking third place.

In the women's competition, Louise Small of Aldershot claimed victory in a superb 55 minutes 17 seconds. Alison McEwing of Erme Valley Harriers finished second, followed by Annie Arnold of City of Plymouth AC in third.

Bideford AAC is keen to build on the success of the event by encouraging more people to get involved in running. Whether taking up the sport for the first time or returning after a break, the club offers a range of opportunities, including training sessions, races and social running groups.

Its welcoming 'Blues Family' atmosphere makes it an ideal club for runners of all abilities, with an emphasis on friendship and enjoyment alongside competition.

Anyone inspired by the Bideford 10 Mile is encouraged to visit the Bideford AAC website to find out more about joining the club and getting involved in its activities.

The club thanked all runners, supporters and volunteers for helping make this year's race such a memorable occasion.
