Towns and villages across the region will honour the fallen this weekend with traditional remembrance services – find your local events here

Commemorations for those who made the ultimate sacrifice got underway across North Devon and Torridge this morning (Friday, November 6), when local schoolchildren, schools and youth groups gathered at Rock Park War Memorial in Barnstaple for the town's annual Children's Remembrance Service.

Communities right across both districts will observe Remembrance Sunday this Sunday (November 8) with parades, services, acts of remembrance and a two minutes’ silence at 11am to mark the hour when the guns finally fell silent on 11/11/1918 at the end of the First World War.

Armistice Day itself is on Wednesday (November 11), with another two-minute silence as high streets and businesses pause their day to remember.

We have pulled together a round up of remembrance events across the region and as ever, almost every town, village and church in the area marks the occasion - this list covers the services that have been published, plus the regular ones whose 2026 times have not been announced yet. Times may change a little, so please check with your local organiser if possible before you set off.

If we have missed your event, email us today on [email protected] and we will add it to the list.
