Festival favourites Mr Tea and the Minions are returning to Appledore this Saturday, March 7 after seven years away for a rip-roaring gig that will threaten to tear the roof off the venue.

The 2019 visit saw the crowd-pleasing band’s energetic, original music encourage the audience at St Mary’s Hall to dance up a storm and this weekend is expected to bring a repeat performance.

St Mary’s is hosting again this Saturday and doors open at 8.30pm, with local pagan rockers Beckon the Wyrd opening the show.

Drawing on a huge range of influences, from Balkan, folk and ska to rock, metal and dub, plus plenty in between, Mr Tea and the Minions are regular favourites at a host of festivals at home and abroad from Glastonbury, WOMAD and Beautiful Days to Northside in Denmark and Goulash in Croatia!

Led by Elle’s powerful vocals and Lucy’s vibrant folk fiddle, the band have been storming festivals and venues around Europe, with their extravagantly colourful and theatrical live performances.

The band treat the audience as co-conspirators and every show is about collectively having the best time possible, with band members contributing incredible amounts of energy, dancing wildly and most importantly having amazing fun at the same time.

Meanwhile, Beckon the Wyrd bring their own original music as well as the odd cover tune, played in their own indomitable style – a full-steam-ahead rock band with captivating female vocals.

Tickets for Saturday’s gig are £15 in advance from www.freeoftigersevents.co.uk or £19 at the door.
