A man is due to appear in court today (Thursday, March 12) after police raided an alleged cannabis grow in the centre of South Molton.
Officers executed a warrant in the raid on the Old Bank building, the former HSBC premises, in Broad Street early on Wednesday, March 11 and discovered alleged grow apparatus and 170 cannabis plants.
Gentian Shkeja, aged 36, of Broad Street, South Molton, has been charged with being concerned in the production of a control Class B drug.
He is scheduled to appear at Exeter Magistrates’ Court today (March 12).
The warrant executed by police was led by the local neighbourhood team and supported by officers from the Force Support Group.
In a Facebook statement yesterday, Sector Inspector Joey Lester said: “This is an example of how information can be reported to and gathered by police to help us build a picture of what is happening in our communities so that we can take proactive action.”
