An exciting quartet called Strange News, led by superb saxophonist and clarinettist Steve Buckley, will kick off the new year’s jazz at North Devon Jazz Club in the Beaver, Appledore on Monday, January 5.
An influential figure on the UK jazz scene, Steve was a founder member of the pioneer bands Loose Tubes and Big Air.

His travels in African countries and elsewhere have strongly influenced his music, particularly through his membership of the Pan African Orchestra and Latin American bands and these influences will be strongly in evidence at The Beaver gig.
Also featuring in the band will be one of the UK’s finest guitarists, Mike Outram.
