Witnesses are being sought after a teenage motorcyclist was left with serious injuries following a collision on the A39 near Barnstaple yesterday (Wednesday, January 28).
The 16-year-old boy from Barnstaple was critically injured when his 50cc motorcycle was in collision with a Range Rover Evoque at the B3230 Muddiford road junction near North Devon District Hospital on the A39.
Police and ambulance were called at around 5.15pm and the seriously inured rider was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition. Both occupants of the Range Rover were uninjured.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision between the Sherco 50cc motorcycle and Range Rover Evoque or anything leading up to it, or who has dashcam that might help, to contact them.
The road was closed until 8pm last night while police investigations took place.
