The A386 remains closed in both directions near Landcross in Devon following a collision involving a vehicle and a tree on Thursday, 8 January.

Police have shut the road between the Monkleigh turn off at Landcross and Loxdown Road in Weare Giffard while  accident investigation work is carried out. The closure has been in place since yesterday evening.

Emergency services were called to the scene after reports of a collision, which also brought a tree down onto the carriageway. Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed the incident is still ongoing and enquiries are continuing.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix said the A386 is closed in both directions due to accident investigation work, with motorists advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes where possible.

The road was first reported closed late last night, with further updates issued this morning confirming the closure remains in place.

There is currently no timescale for when the road is expected to reopen.
