An eagerly-awaited North Devon production will be shooting for the stars at the end of this month as Croyde Players return with a new community pantomime after a break last year.

‘Dick Whittington and His Cosmic Adventures’ is the latest and brand new family pantomime from the Players, set to delight audiences with plenty of laughter, music and all the traditional panto fun.

Shows are at Croyde Village Hall on Friday, January 23 and Saturday, January 24 and again on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31, with evening shows each day plus a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.

This year’s show puts a fun, space-themed spin on the classic tale, following Dick, his loyal cat and a cast of familiar panto characters as they set off on an unexpected adventure beyond Earth.

Performed by a cast of local actors, the show appeals to all ages, making it an ideal family outing during the winter months and as ever, Croyde Players will combine humour, storytelling and community spirit, plus plenty of opportunities for the audience to join in!

The last Croyde panto was in 2024 but in the summer, Croyde Players launched an appeal to recruit new blood to restart the group, gaining interest from those keen to tread the boards on stage.

Just as important are the willing volunteers who perform a variety of support roles from costume and make-up to props and production.

Book your tickets now for an out of this world adventure of riotous fun to beat the winter blues – tickets cost only £9 for adults and £7 for children and are available online via www.croydeplayers.co.uk or from Croyde Post Office.

Show times: Friday, January 23, 7.30-9.30pm; Saturday, January 24,
2.30-4.30pm & 7.30-9.30pm.
