Hunt the characters from the ‘first Christmas’ in Barnstaple this Saturday

A free interactive Nativity Trail will take place in Barnstaple this Saturday morning (December 20) with all children welcome to join in

Characters from the Christmas story going on the Nativity Trail

Why not join the hunt for Nativity characters in Barnstaple this Saturday?

Seek out live characters from the story of the first Christmas at an interactive Nativity Trail in Barnstaple this Saturday (December 20).

The trail is open to all children and is completely free. It starts at 10.30am wherever you can find one of the characters and get a passport.

After collecting the passport, children will need to search around the High Street, outside Banbury’s, the Pannier Market and Green Lanes.

The aim is to find characters including Mary and Joseph, the innkeepers, the shepherds, the wise men, the angels, King Herod, a star and a donkey.

From each the seekers must collect a sticker and a code word and work out a coded message. The trail ends at 12.30pm when the characters will walk back to the Parish Church.

Refreshments will be available from 11.30am onwards in the church for all participants when they have completed the trail.
