An overtaking section on the A361 North Devon Link Road will be restricted from Monday (July 14) according to contractors Griffiths.

In its latest traffic bulletin, the company said the section at Kerscott between Barnstaple and South Molton would see one overtaking lane closed entirely for four weeks.

Traffic will still be able to flow freely in both directions, however.

Meanwhile, overnight works will continue on the A361 as with previous weeks, with some restrictions and traffic lights in place at various locations between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday nights.

Three-way traffic lights will remain at the West Buckland junction and the roundabouts at Landkey and Borners Bridge will be reduced to single lanes while the overnight work is taking place, with lights in operation when required.

Griffiths has said there will be no road closure at all in July and overnight traffic management will be removed for daytime use.

Motorists can expect temporary traffic lights at various places between Barnstaple and South Molton, with lane closures on the widened sections but traffic can continue to flow.

If the procedure is the same as May and June, the overnight lights will be staffed to ensure traffic continues to flow.

While the overnight works and daytime lane closure are not expected to cause major disruption, motorists are urged to take them into account when planning their journeys.
