Motorists will be facing some overnight roadworks on the North Devon Link Road throughout May with traffic lights and lane closures on some sections, but the road will remain open.

Contractors Griffiths has published a schedule of works as part of its regular bulletin which will affect the road from Sunday through to Friday nights between 8pm and 6am.

Various sections of the road between Portmore Roundabout in Barnstaple and Borners Bridge in South Molton will be affected.

There will be two-way traffic lights between the Portmore and Landkey roundabouts plus extra lane closures on the widened sections but the traffic flow will be maintained.

Traffic lights will be in place at the widened sections near Swimbridge and Kerscott.

The West Buckland junction will have three-way traffic lights.

There will also be two-way traffic lights between North Aller Roundabout and Borners Bridge Roundabout.

Griffiths said the lights would have someone in attendance to minimise disruption.

Two lanes on the roundabouts at Landkey and Borners Bridge will be reduced to a single lane with cones.

In the next few weeks there will also be daytime two-way traffic lights across the top of the new bridge at the West Buckland junction but these will not affect the A361.
