Overnight traffic lights and lane closures on the A361 North Devon Link Road will continue through June, contractors Griffiths has announced.

There will be no road closure but between 8pm and 6am Sunday to Friday there will be two and three way traffic lights in various locations, as well as the closure of a single lane on some dualled sections.

The restrictions will be in place between Portmore Roundabout at Barnstaple and Borners Bridge Roundabout by Pathfields Business Park at South Molton.

From Monday (June 9) there will be overnight three-way traffic lights at the West Buckland junction for four weeks while finishing works are completed. Griffiths said traffic turning off may be diverted over the bridge by the lights.

Two-way traffic lights continue to be in use over the West Buckland Bridge during daytimes but this will not affect A361 traffic.

In a schedule largely unchanged from that announced at the beginning of May, Griffiths has also said there will by overnight two-way traffic lights between Portmore and Landkey roundabouts, plus a single lane close on the two-lane section after Landkey.

The double lane sections by Swimbridge and Kerscott will also have a single lane close plus traffic lights and a single lane will be closed after the West Buckland junction too.

Travelling towards South Molton, there will be two-way lights just after the North Aller Roundabout.

Griffiths has said the traffic lights will be attended to minimise disruption and all temporary traffic measures will be removed during the daytime.

The overnight works are not expected to significant disruption but drivers are urged to take them into account when planning their journeys.
