Ella and Julian are setting Devon - and the world - alight

Recent stories uncovered by Clear Sky Publishing have gained international attention

Clear Sky Publishing's two new journalists are already making a mark for themselves in their local communities  - and further afield.

Julian Barnes and Ella Sampson only joined the editorial team in Torbay, North Devon and Dartmoor respectively a few weeks ago. But they have already come up with some cracking 'Naturally Inspiring' and 'Outstanding' stories with one from Ella, in particular, being picked up by other news outlets and platforms nationally and internationally.

Her story for the North Devon Gazette about 12-year-old Rory Bidwell from Great Torrington made the headlines elsewhere.  Ella revealed how Rory has been invited to join Mensa after scoring a maximum 162 on an IQ test, putting him in the same company as legendary minds and brains like Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking.

Sky News, The Sun, The Guardian, The Independent and Yahoo News all followed the story - and Ella even received a call from a TV breakfast show on the other side of the world in New Zealand asking for more details.

Editor Jim Parker said: "It's a pleasure to have Julian and Ella on board. They have been like a breath of fresh air since joining the team and already understand the value of reflecting success out in the community and being part of that community as Ella's story shows. I'm sure it will be the first of many for both of them."
