Cinemas in Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and Torrington will be showing the new release for free on September 14-15 under the escapes free ticket scheme

North Devon movies fans can see the epic true-life adventure and love story The Cycle of Love for free on two days next week.

Thanks to the free ticket scheme run by nationwide initiative Escapes, funded by the National Lottery, film buffs can go and see the new movie at Scott Cinema in Barnstaple, Embassy Cinema in Ilfracombe and The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington on Monday and Tuesday, September 14-15.

The Cycle of Love tells the true story of a street artist who biked 6,000 miles from Delhi to Sweden to find the woman who captured his heart.

It saw PK, a 23-year-old street artist – played in the movie by Chiurag Benedict Lobo - set off with a handful of paintbrushes and a second-hand bicycle on journey across Europe and Asia to find Lotta, played by Mina Dale, who bowled him over during her visit to India.

Convinced their meeting was fate, PK embarked on a leap of faith that became a journey of love, identity and transformation.

The Cycle of Love is executive produced by Indian film icon Priyanka Chopra and directed by Academy Award-winner Orlando von Einsiedel, who had unprecedented access to PK, Lotta and their families.

The film incorporates decades of photographs, intimate home videos and a remarkable collection of handwritten love letters.

Movie review website Roger Ebert said the film was, “delicate and heart-warming… transcends time and borders.”
