EastEnders star visits North Devon sandwich bar for jacket spud

EastEnders fan favourite popped into Alexander’s Sandwich Bar in Barnstaple at the weekend
An EastEnders star turned a few heads at the weekend when he strolled into Alexander’s Sandwich Bar in Barnstaple to order a jacket spud.
Pierre Counihan-Moullier, who plays sometime-bad boy Oscar Branning in the hit soap, popped into Alexander’s on Boutport Street to grab his lunch during a visit to Devon.
The actor, who is aged 26, plays 18-year-old Oscar, the son of Max Branning, on the Albert Square set and has been involved in a number of turbulent and storylines.
Nik Edwards, owner of Alexander’s posted a selfie picture of himself and Pierre on Facebook and said he had been a “pleasant chap” who was happy to spend time chatting to customers.
Nik said: “I didn't recognise him as I don't watch soaps anymore, but while I was preparing his jacket potato a couple of lads were talking to him about being in EastEnders.
“So then I joined the conversation and asked which part he played and if he was still in the show, which he said yes he was and he played Oscar, Max Branning’s son.
“He was talking for about five to 10 minutes with customers, he was a lovely chap.”
As Oscar, Pierre has been a fan favourite and they can still catch him four nights a week on BBC One – but sadly not for much longer as it has been announced he is leaving the show some time next year.
His character was introduced in 2007 and has been played by various child actors until being recast last year when Oscar returned to Albert Square aged 17 following a stint in a young offender’s institution.
