West End icon and the original Elphaba brings her Rock Anthems show to Barnstaple

West End and Broadway leading lady and legend Kerry Ellis of Wicked, Les Miserables and Cats fame brings her Rock Anthems tour to the Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple later this year

You can join Kerry Ellis in Barnstaple this September as she runs through her favourite rock anthems.

The ‘First Lady of the West End’ and the original Elphaba from the stage version of Wicked will be heading to Barnstaple this September with a tour celebrating her love of rock anthems.

Kerry Ellis will be bringing her new Rock Anthems tour to the Queen’s Theatre on Wednesday, September 23.  

An icon of the West End and Broadway, Kerry has played lead roles in musicals inclduing Les Misérables, Wicked (in the West End and on Broadway), Oliver! and Cats, as well national tours and concert productions of musicals such as Miss Saigon, Chess, The War of the Worlds, RENT and Anything Goes.

Sir Brian May described her as having ‘the most beautiful voice in Britain’, which lead to him asking her to star in Queen’s smash hit musical, We Will Rock You.

The duo met in 2002 and released three albums together, as well as touring the world.

In this new show, Kerry will explore her love of rock anthems as she pays homage to Queen, Meatloaf, Bonnie Tyler and other rock legends who inspired her.

Kerry said: “I have been a fan of classic rock music all my life, having been introduced to the genre as a little girl by my parents.

“This will be a very special tour as I will get to sing the rock anthems which have punctuated my life and share the stories behind them. Get ready to rock!”
