Teignmouth Road closure among series of Torbay traffic disruptions this week

Motorists in Torquay and Paignton are being urged to plan ahead as a series of road closures and temporary traffic lights take effect over the coming days.

In Torquay, Teignmouth Road will be closed overnight in sections in the Tormohun ward from Wednesday 11 February through to Saturday 14 February. 

A short BT-related two-way lights slot is also due on Saturday 15 February on Teignmouth Road between Longpark Hill and Sladnor Park Road, running from 07.00 to 10.00.

In Paignton, full daytime closures came into force today on Higher Yalberton Road and extend to Yalberton Road on Thursday 13 February, both in the Blatchcombe ward. 

Additional temporary two-way lights outside peak hours are set for Thursday 13 February on St Marychurch Road near the Model Village and on Westhill Road at number 165.

Council officials say the works are necessary for road safety and maintenance, and diversions will be in place where required. Drivers are advised to check routes in advance and allow extra journey time, particularly on busier commuter routes.
