Torbay rock band make a comeback with new single You’re The Reason

Torbay-based rock band Departed have released their first new music since 2019 - with a new single called You’re The Reason.

The song, which has a video running on YouTube, showcases a new sound for the band.

“It’s exactly who we are now,” said vocalist Mark Pascall. “It bridges our original sound with
something heavier, darker, and more evolved.

“This is only the start. Just wait for what’s coming.”

Mark and guitarist Ben Brookland say they are looking forward to working with the more modern incarnation of the band, with material that has been developing over the last few years.

Ben was formerly the lead guitarist for critically-acclaimed UK rock band The Treatment. Mark has become known for his work fronting the likes of Cats in Space, Kingdom of Madness and Myke Gray of Skin. They are joined by multi-instrumentalist Matt Chalk behind the kit and Mike Rigler - formerly of Voodoo Vegas - on bass.

Over the years Departed have appeared at major festivals including Download Festival; Bloodstock Open Air; SteelHouse Festival; Looe Music Festival; Hard Rock Hell; Winterstorm and others.

They have supported world-class bands of the calibre of Status Quo, Big Country, the Graham Bonnet Band and Skindred.

“Now is a new era for the band,” said Mark. “After a few years hiatus we’re raring to go and can’t wait to share this new material with the world!”
