Brixham Lottery joy for local shop owners as organisers hunt mystery missing winner

Organisers urge residents to check their wallets and drawers as second £500 prize remains unclaimed

Brixham Lottery joy for local shop owners as organisers hunt mystery missing winner

A pair of Brixham shop owners are celebrating after being revealed as the lucky winners of the town’s festive lottery - while organisers are still hunting for the holder of a second unclaimed winning ticket worth £500.

Anthony Todd and Collette Barron, who run Sam Browne, the leather shop at the bottom of Fore Street, were presented with their £500 cheque this week after their card, number 341, was drawn in the Brixham Christmas Lottery.

However, there’s still one more prize waiting to be claimed, with ticket 089 currently unaccounted for. Organisers are urging everyone who bought a card to check drawers, handbags, wallets and 'safe places'.

The draw took place at Brixham Yacht Club on Friday 10 January at 7.30pm, where the two lucky tickets were selected from the 500 cards sold.

Anyone holding ticket 089 must come forward by midnight on Wednesday 1 March 2026 to claim the prize. If it remains unclaimed, the £500 will roll over into the next big Christmas draw.

The lottery is run by Brixham Future CIC, with every £5 ticket helping to fund a range of community projects and free town events, including celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of VE Day and support for the Brixham Medical Aid Convoy to Ukraine, which helps deliver lifesaving equipment to the front lines.

Organisers said: “We thank everyone who bought a £5 ticket and hope they enjoy the free public events we provide and all our other projects in town.”

So, if you bought a card - now’s the time to dig it out. There may just be £500 with your name on it.
