Major roadworks and overnight closures to begin in Exeter next week

Lane restrictions and overnight shutdowns planned between 19 January and 7 March, with diversions in place

Plan ahead this festive season as roadworks continue across Plymouth

A series of essential road repairs and highway improvements are set to take place on the A3015 Rydon Lane in Exeter over the coming weeks.

The work will be carried out in phases between Monday 19 January and Saturday 7 March across several sections of the route. The scheme begins with lane closures in both directions from 19 January to 19 February to allow for drainage improvements, vegetation clearance and the replacement of signs and streetlighting.

From Wednesday 4 February, a programme of overnight weekday closures will follow, running between 7pm and 7am, to enable resurfacing and line marking works. These are scheduled as follows:

  • Rydon Lane southbound: overnight weekday closures from Wednesday 4 February to Tuesday 17 February

  • A379 on-slip: overnight weekday closures from Friday 6 February to Wednesday 11 February, and Monday 16 February to Friday 20 February

  • Rydon Lane northbound: overnight weekday closures from Friday 20 February to Saturday 28 February

  • Pynes Hill junction: overnight weekday closures from Friday 27 February to Saturday 7 March

Diversions will be in place throughout, with emergency access maintained at all times. Site staff will also assist residents needing access to their properties, although motorists are being warned to expect delays.

All dates remain weather dependent and may be subject to change.
