14-year-old seriously injured in Plymouth stabbing

Incident in Notte Street and Athenaeum Street prompts public appeal for information

Detectives are investigating a serious assault on a 14-year-old boy in Plymouth city centre on Monday 22 December.

Police were called at 6.50pm to the area of Notte Street and Athenaeum Street following reports of a stabbing. The teenager was taken to hospital with multiple serious stab wounds, where he remains in treatment. His injuries are not being treated as life-threatening.

On Wednesday [24 Dec], a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident. He has since been released on police bail.

Detectives continue to progress enquiries and there will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.
