Bowls England celebrate with Ilfracombe bowlers

It is turning out to be a historic summer at Ilfracombe Bowling Club, including the honour of playing host to Bowls England Presidents, past and present, plus their guests, who descended on the North Devon club for a fabulous day on the greens.

Bowls England were given a huge welcome to Ilfracombe, as the club showcased their amazing facilities and the vibrant social scene that has placed bowls at the heart of the sporting community for over 130 years.

Looking to the future, Ilfracombe Bowling Club has embarked on a summer of fundraising to improve their iconic clubhouse.

The club said: “We are creating a warm space and social hub for our great town; new landing area, unisex disabled toilet and stairlift completed and now we start knocking walls through to the rear to create a history and heritage room, celebrating and capturing the last 130 years. This will provide us with an entertaining space and a viewing area this winter.”
