Hundreds of people gathered in the centre of Barnstaple on Saturday (December 16) for Carols on the Square hosted by The Veterans Charity.
Entertainment from singer Tamsin Ball, Chivenor Military Ladies Choir and the Appledore Band, which accompanied the carols and included a rousing 12 Days of Christmas finale which involved everyone.
The charity provides welfare services and support for former service personnel.
CEO Danny Greeno said: “Many thanks to everyone who came along - we hope you all had a fantastic time.
“More than £700 was raised on the night for The Veterans Charity which, in our busiest year on record for welfare with well over 850 cases being supported, is a very welcome sum indeed.
“Outstanding food and drink was provided by The Box Bar Devon and Bulldog Fisheries and we were all kept safe and well by Gardant Security Limited/Gardant Medicare.
“The artists were sheltered by our friends from M & R Marquees and our wonderful team of volunteers helped to receive lots of very generous donations and have some great conversations with people who wanted to know more about how we support veterans.”
The charity has received plenty of positive feedback from the evnt and has already set the date for the next Carols on the Square – Saturday, December 14, 2024.
