The recent performances of Oliver! at the Queen's Theatre by Barnstaple Amateur Operatic Society played to full houses each night. Many people tried to get tickets to see the show but were disappointed. However, there is a chance to hear some of the songs again from Nancy and Fagin and his Gang at Edgehill College on Saturday April 26. The concert is an informal, relaxed evening of light-hearted music from the shows which as well as numbers from Oliver! will include a selection of Lloyd Webber songs, also some from South Pacific, The King and I, The Sound of Music, Sweet Charity, Company, Little Shop of Horrors, Smile, Mary Poppins, Chicago, My Fair Lady and Wicked. All performed by some of the best singers in the area.As an incentive to families with children to experience live performance and music, Edgehill College is inviting families to bring accompanied children FREE of charge. Tickets for adults are £5 each and are available from the school on (01237) 471701. 'Music from the Musicals' will be performed in The Theatre at Edgehill College, Bideford, and will start at 7.30 pm.
