ACTORS in Ilfracombe are putting on a new out of doors display on the sea front this Sunday which should appeal to people of all ages - a car boot sale.Studio Theatre members have organised the event so they can continue treading the boards around North Devon with a busy programme of five productions coming up this year."All are self-funded or financed through the generosity of local business sponsors, residents or organisations," explained committee member Robert Zarywacz. "We don't receive public funding and raise our production budget from selling seats at performances or through fund-raising activities."The 2008 programme includes The Heiress touring Ilfracombe, Berrynarbor, Woolacombe and Pilton in May; a three-show summer season comprising Blithe Spirit, When You're Smiling and Musical Magic at the Landmark Theatre and Pavilion and North Devon venues. The highlight of the year is a major musical production of Me and My Girl at the Landmark Theatre in October."So if you want to have a spring clear out and raise some cash for yourself while also helping to raise funds for Studio Theatre, please take a pitch at our car boot sale," said Robert. Not so much bums on seats as "goods in boots," the event will be on sea front this Sunday from 10am and is free to buyers. It is open to sellers from 8.30am, with car pitches available at £6 each or £5 if reserved. Call Mike Bennett on (01271) 879698 or Robert on 07971 176044 to reserve a pitch or visit www.studiotheatreonline.org.uk for details of the boot sale and Studio Theatre productions.
