Three-storey Ilfracombe harbourside property featuring a ground floor café plus holiday accommodation is on offer at £750,000

The landmark 11 The Quay building in Ilfracombe once owned by celebrity artist Damien Hirst is up for sale.

The three-storey property on the quay, just before the entrance to the pier, is currently being marketed by agents Fine & Country with a guide price of £750,000.

It became famous in North Devon and further afield when Damien Hirst bought the former White Hart building in the early 2000s, restored and renovated it and opened it as 11 The Quay bistro and bar in 2004.

He closed it in October 2018 and it was sold a year later.

Since then, the current owner has refurbished the upper floors to create four-bedroom living accommodation currently used as a holiday let while the ground floor is let as a café on a five-year lease and operates as 11 The Quay Café and Wine Bar.

The Fine & Country sales description says the business is running successfully and the holiday let side has also been successful.

It says both areas of the property have been separated and allow for independent use by different operators giving flexibility for the use of the building, although an owner/occupier could easily choose to integrate them again if they wished.
