Bideford runners in the London Marathon

Congratulations to everyone from London who raced in the iconic London Marathon last weekend.

Bideford Amateur Athletics Club had a number of representatives and the times were simply amazing. The Blues took on the course with the enthusiasm, determination and dedication that we have all come to admire from those wearing the famous club jersey. Well done to everyone who took part.

London Marathon Results: Tamsin Stevens 3:15:06, Jo Bedler 3:27:47, Helen Colwill 3:36:38, Lorraine Clements 3:38:40, Davina Brown 3:41:44, Linda Eastmond 4:01:22, Matt Rowe 4:18:40.

It is a magnificent achievement for any runner to complete a full marathon and doing it at the premier event in the UK is something to cherish forever.

However, the Blues were not just limited to running in the Capital. Pete Hockin ran for England in the Chester Marathon and finished an impressive 23rd, setting a new British age group record time of 2:39:21.

James Pugley, Keith Shapland, Gemma Steele and Jess Gierke made their way to a different UK Capital City, as they took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon.
