THE second of the season's Kwik Cricket tournaments run for North Devon primary schools attracted 140 young players to the Barnstaple and Pilton Cricket Club.

The competition, run by Barnstaple and Pilton CC and sponsored by the North Devon Gazette, featured Year 4 teams from the Pilton Community College feeder schools.

Winners were Pilton Bluecoat 1, with Bratton Fleming 1 runners-up. Others of the 14 teams were drawn from Our Lady's, Fremington, and Yeo Valley Schools.

Each played six group matches before the leading teams played off in the final.

In close finishes, just one or two runs decided some of the games.
