Councillors have agreed a £36,000 boost to village hall and sports project in North Devon.
The cash for schemes in Burrington, Instow, Witheridge and Bishops Nympton comes from a pot of public open space funds made up of community contributions from developers who have built homes in the district.
North Devon Council’s strategy and resources committee decided that Instow Village Hall should get £18,000 towards the cost of its Go Green Project which will see the addition of new windows, loft insulation, solar panels and solar battery storage.
The £90,000 project has also received money from Instow Parish Council, the National Lottery Community Fund, the Platinum Jubilee Village Halls Fund, benefactors and local fundraising.

Bishops Nympton Parish Hall will get £7,000 towards the cost of constructing a new patio area to encourage the use of family groups especially to the popular Community Club.
Almost £8,000 goes to Witheridge Village Hall towards the cost of installing new soffits and guttering as part of the ongoing refurbishment project and Burrington Parish Council will get £3,500 towards the cost of providing a new entrance into the sports field opposite the village hall.
The funds come from developments on land at Golland Farm, Burrington, Barton Cross, Instow, land south of Broomhouse Park and Webbery Moor at Ash Mill.
