A 28-year-old South Molton man has appeared in court following an incident at a pub in the town on Saturday night (October 11).

Jordan Foster, of Hugh Squier Avenue, South Molton, is charged with wounding/inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent and common assault.

It follows an incident at The Coaching Inn in Queen Street just after 9pm on Saturday in which it is alleged Foster punched a man in his 30s, who fell and sustained serious head injuries. He remains in hospital.

Foster appeared before Exeter Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday, October 13) and was remanded in custody until his next appearance on November 13 at Exeter Crown Court.
