A forensic archaeologist has been called in to discover the age of human bones found on Saunton Sands beach.
Police said they were called to the popular surf beach on Saturday (October 11) at 2.50pm after human bones were discovered.
Sections of the top of the beach near the beach sauna wagon were cordoned off with tape and cones, as beachgoers looked on.

Officers were seen digging in parts of the beach and the activity continued into Sunday, with police placing a guard on the scene to ensure it was not disturbed.
A police statement said the bones would be examined by a forensic archaeologist to confirm their age and enquiries were ongoing.
A woman had posted on social media at the weekend that her son had found ‘very old bones’ while digging in the sand.
