Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a scary hit and run on the B3230 Muddiford road on Wednesday, September 3.
The collision took place near Bittadon at Sawmill bend at around 2.15pm and involved a dark coloured SUV (sports utility vehicle) and a green Ford.
It was reported the SUV collided with the rear of the Ford, pushing the Ford across the road and into the oncoming lane at Sawmill Bend.

As a result of the crash, the Ford was left undriveable and its passenger suffered minor injuries.
The SUV then left the scene despite having sustained significant damage and smoke was seen coming from it.
Despite an extensive search by units from Ilfracombe and Barnstaple as well as the police helicopter, the SUV and its driver have not been located.
Anybody with information or dashcam footage which could help identify the SUV or its driver, is asked to call the police on 101 or get in touch via the Devon & Cornwall Police website, quoting 50250229305.
