Police have said two women walking at Hele Bay in Ilfracombe have sustained serious injuries after a car collided with them at lunchtime today (Thursday, September 18).
The pair were taken to hospital following the collision, but the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.
Police were called at around 12.30pm to Watermouth Road on the A399 just outside Hele and below Ilfracombe Golf Club.
South western Ambulance Service and Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service also attended.
The road was closed for between two and three hours but is now open again.
It is understood there have been no arrests at this time.
