A ‘rare freehold opportunity’ has arisen as a shop in the heart of Bideford town centre goes up for auction on Thursday, September 18.

The former premises of therapy and treatments provider Raphael in Mill Street has a freehold guide price of £95,000-plus and will be offered at auction by Clive Emson Auctioneers.

Raphael itself has not closed and is instead moving into The Treatment and Therapy Rooms right next door.

Auction appraiser Steve Appleby said: “This is a prominently located, vacant commercial property in the centre of Bideford.

“It is currently arranged as ground floor retail space with additional first floor accommodation and represents a rare freehold opportunity in a busy and established trading location in this popular town.”

The property is being auctioned in arrangement with Blak Property estate agents.

It is among 191 lots listed across southern England in the September auction from Clive Emson Auctioneers and the firm’s largest number of lots at auction in 13 years.

Bidding will be live from September 16 and prospective bidders are invited to go to https://www.cliveemson.co.uk for more details.

The owners of Raphael explained the move in a July Facebook post, saying: “From September the clinic will be moving next door into The Treatment and Therapy Rooms where we have full wheelchair access and wide doors. There will also be no more standing outside in all weathers waiting for your appointment. We have a seated waiting area just for you.”
