Free family events in Bideford and North Devon this summer with children’s entertainment, live shows, music workshops, circus skills, crafts, Halloween activities, and New Year’s Eve celebrations

Looking for free family fun? Discover North Devon’s Friday kids’ events this summer

A programme of free children’s events will run at Bideford Pannier Market this August, with weekly themed activities planned during the school holidays.

Funded by Bideford Town Council and delivered by South West Event Management Solutions CIC, the ‘Free Fun Fridays’ will take place on 8, 15 and 22 August from 10am to 2pm. 

Additional events are also scheduled for Halloween and New Year’s Eve.

Each Friday event will feature live entertainment, workshops and crafts aimed at children of all ages.

The sessions include:

  • 8 August - Fairy-tastic Fun: A live performance of The Fairy Who Wanted To Fly and mermaid character appearances at 11am, 12pm and 1pm, alongside themed crafts.
  • 15 August - Let’s Make Music: A family-friendly music workshop hosted by Root Notes, with opportunities to take part in musical crafts and activities.22 August - Run Away with the Circus: Circus skills workshops, games and creative crafts based on classic big-top themes.

The Pannier Market will also host seasonal events later in the year:

  • 31 October - Halloween Market (10am–3pm): Including pumpkin carving, Halloween crafts and a themed dog show.
  • 31 December - New Year’s Eve Party (10am–2pm): Featuring party games, a mini disco, craft activities and a fancy dress competition.

All sessions are free to attend. 

Families are welcome to bring their own food or enjoy refreshments at the on-site café.
