The finalists have been announced for the North Devon Business Awards 2024 and the winners will be revealed at the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe on Thursday, May 9 on awards night.

A wide range of established and up-and-coming local businesses will be competing across 14 awards categories and one will walk away with the coveted title of North Devon Business of the Year.

Awards organiser and publisher of Business Action magazine, Robert Zarywacz, said once again there had been a tremendous response, with 119 entries from all sizes and types of business from across the region.

He said: “The awards aim to celebrate and promote the remarkable energy and achievements of local businesses who drive and maintain the North Devon economy for the benefit of everyone in our community.

“I thank every business who entered – you are all appreciated – and thank our 10 independent judges and all our sponsors whose invaluable support makes the awards possible.”

The winners of each category proceed to the winner of winners award to be named North Devon Business of the Year 2024 – sponsored by Philip J Milton & Company Plc.

Reflecting on five years of sponsoring the award, Managing Director Philip Milton said: “Whether it’s a new food enterprise, cutting-edge artistic or technology offering or perhaps something in the service sector, I believe North Devon punches well above its weight in this arena.

“That’s why occasions such as the excellent North Devon Business Awards are the perfect time to celebrate these achievements, but also the awards encourage and foster this spirit of enterprise, spurring others on to achieve more, perhaps to set up or diversify their own businesses – and of course they are a fantastic networking opportunity too.

“No business exists in isolation; we all rely on each other to an extent and it is vitally important both to support one another’s businesses as well as recognising and celebrating the accomplishments of others, to stand as an example and to showcase the many excellent things happening in North Devon’s thriving business community.”

All businesses are welcome to attend the Awards Celebration on Thursday, May 9, which celebrates all North Devon businesses and offers a great networking opportunity for the 150-plus guests too.

For the second year, the event is sponsored by NFU Mutual Barnstaple and Bideford, which said: “We were delighted to be offered the opportunity to be involved with these awards, recognising and celebrating the success of local businesses across North Devon.

“We have been impressed with the breadth and quality of the entrants and feel that the judges will have some difficult decisions to make.

“With more than a century of experience, NFU Mutual has been part of the fabric of the local community for many years and it is an important part of who we are.”
