A Climate Forum is happening on Saturday, 1 February, at Barnstaple Library, where Andy Bell, Co-ordinator of The North Devon Biosphere, will be speaking.

The forum, titled Food Production, Climate Change and Nature: Where Do We Go from Here?, will explore the effects of climate change on food production and the natural environment.

The North Devon Biosphere, a UN-designated area of ecological importance, spans a significant portion of Devon’s countryside.

Its mission is to encourage a sustainable connection between people and nature.

Professor Michael Winter of Exeter University, also part of the Biosphere team, explains, “Our Biosphere is here to inspire a positive future by connecting people and nature.”

Andy Bell will discuss the challenges of climate change, how we can mitigate its effects, and the role of nature-based solutions in adapting to environmental impacts.

There will also be time for a Q&A session.

The forum takes place in Room 3b of Barnstaple Library. Doors open at 10.45am for an 11am start.

The group say admission is free, but donations are welcomed, and refreshments will be available.
