CGI of The Pastures
Bideford has welcomed the first properties for sale at The Pastures, a new housing development by Vistry Group that aims to provide 550 homes to the local community. Located off Clovelly Road, the development features a range of two, three, four, and five-bedroom houses under Vistry's Bovis Homes and Linden Homes brands.
The Pastures will include various community amenities, such as three play parks, a multi-use games area, a football pitch, and a sports changing facility, along with ample green open spaces.
Notably, 26 per cent of the homes are designated as affordable housing, available for shared ownership or rent.
All homes will be equipped with air source heat pumps, enhancing their energy efficiency.
In addition to housing, Vistry Group plans to contribute over £3.16 million to local services, including early years and primary education, libraries, bus services, and the development of pedestrian and cycle routes.
The company has also proposed offering part of the site to Devon County Council for the potential establishment of a new school.
Emma Colin, regional managing director at Vistry Devon South West, expressed enthusiasm for the development, noting significant interest in the first homes released for sale.
She said: “We’re excited to have released the first homes for sale in this beautiful part of North Devon and we’ve received a lot of interest already.”
Construction began in November 2023, with plans to launch a marketing suite and show home this winter.
The entire development is expected to be completed by the end of 2030.
The initial offering includes three-bedroom properties starting at £315,000 and five-bedroom detached homes priced from £535,000.
The Pastures is situated near Bideford, providing access to a variety of amenities and the nearby seaside village of Westward Ho!
