Agreed re-opening dates for Lynton post office

Lynton residents can look forward to the reopening of their local Post Office at a new location, announced by the Post Office Press Office. 

The branch, previously located at Lee Road, Lynton, closed last December due to operational reasons. 

Now, a new agreement has been reached to relocate the Post Office to Costcutter at 15-16 Lee Road, Lynton, EX35 6HW, with services set to resume on Thursday, September 19, at 1pm.

The new Post Office facility will operate within the convenience store, offering a comprehensive range of products and services at the retail counter. 

Opening hours will be significantly expanded, running from 8am to 8pm daily, totalling 84 hours of service per week - double the previous operating hours.

This extended schedule aims to provide greater accessibility and convenience for local residents.

Following consultations and careful consideration of community feedback, the Post Office has said that the layout and location of the new branch will effectively meet customer needs and ensure the long-term sustainability of postal services in Lynton. 

The move is expected to enhance service delivery while restoring essential postal services to the community.
