South West Water is in Lynmouth today to host the third event of its Community Roadshow, which is making its way across the region.
The event will share the water company’s latest business plan with customers and explain how the company is investing record amounts to make improvements right across the region.
Taking place today (Friday, January 26), the event will give customers the chance to meet with experts from South West Water, discuss the company’s performance and explore its plans for the future.
The company will be showcasing how its latest five-year business plan, The Right Deal for Right Now, will feature £2.8 billion of investment, and create over 2,000 jobs across the region – pinpointing the specific investments that are planned for Lynmouth and its surrounding area.
Developed in collaboration with over 30,000 customers and 1,000 stakeholders, the wider company plan focuses on four key priorities:
With a tailored market-stall setup, the event is designed for customers to be able to walk around and talk to different subject experts from South West Water about specific focus areas, such as: environmental improvements, increasing water resources and supporting customers with their bills.
South West Water has already earmarked £4.25 million of investment in Lynmouth up to March 2025 to help reduce the risk of environmental impact from its sewerage network, and to contribute towards improving bathing water quality at Lynmouth Beach, as assessed by the Environment Agency.
Laura Flowerdew, Chief Customer and Digital Officer at South West Water, said: “Our Community Roadshow events provide a great opportunity for customers to come and talk to our field experts directly and have their questions answered in person. We look forward to the third instalment of these events and welcoming the Lynmouth community on Friday, where we will be providing them with the opportunity to discover more about our future plans.
“This is an exciting chance for us to showcase how more investment in the Lynmouth area and wider region will enable South West Water to go further and faster to address its key priorities and shed light on any concerns our customers may have.”
The community drop-in session will take place from 12:30pm-4:30pm at Lynton Town Hall on Lee Road, Lynton, EX35 6HT, on Friday, January 26.
