The popular ska, reggae and dub collective bring their foot-stomping, hip wiggling and toe-tapping show to St Mary’s Hall, Appledore on Saturday, November 7

An original blend of rock-powered soulful roots, reggae, ska and dub from one of the most popular musical collectives on the current scene is coming to St Mary’s Hall in Appledore this Saturday, November 7.

Captain Accident and the Disasters are popular on the festival circuit and have shared a stage with some of the industry’s leading names, including Suggs, who jumped on stage to sing with the band and many others including reggae royalty Julian Marley.

The ‘Captain’ creates everything at his studio in Cardiff and then brings it to foot-jigging life with ‘the Disasters’ for an explosive stage show bringing an energetic & captivating live show.

Audiences can expect soulful vocals, luscious harmonies, soaring twin guitars and a truly infectious groove - there’s no standing still when Capt Accident and his clumsy companions are in town!

The group are touring their new album 'Sayanora Paranoia' which will no doubt gain the band more acclaim, as previous ones have done, including from the legendary David Rodigan on his BBC Radio 1xtra Reggae Show.

So it was no ‘accident’ that Captain Accident and The Disasters were hand-picked to join reggae heroes Toots & the Maytals for a run of dates on a past UK tour and the Cap was even invited on stage by Toots to play guitar for the 'Monkey Man' song.

Devon’s own Ez Dickens, is opening the show and has been rated as one to watch on the South West music scene.

She delivers a live show powered by rhythmic grooves, crafty lyrical content, soulful vocals and infectious energy.

Having recently released her own EP ‘Words That Mean Nothing’, with single ‘Someone’ surpassing 200,000 streams, Ez has been on the rise this past year, going from strength-to-strength at UK festivals, headline shows and a support tour with The Undercover Hippy.

Ez’s singer-songwriter roots pave the way for an engaging and personable performance, driven by her electric energy and relatable lyrics in a fun fusion of reggae, ska, dub, hip hop and gypsy-folk.

Dors open for the gig on Saturday, November 7 at 8pm, with tickets £10 in advance or £14 on the night. You can book tickets at https://www.musicglue.com/freeoftigersevents

There’s also a choose your own choons silent disco at the venue on Friday from 8pm, with ticket details from the same link.
