The construction company has raised over £12,000 for Barnstaple charity, Family Compass
When TCi selected Family Compass as their charity for 2023, they embarked on a journey that exceeded all expectations to raise almost £12,500.
The construction firm aimed to generate crucial funds for Family Compass, enabling them to provide essential support to children and young families facing mental health challenges.
TCi (GB) Ltd is a leading provider of commercial construction and interiors, offering services in office and welfare furniture supply and installation.
Megan Barnes, the coordinator for the fundraising efforts, expressed gratitude for the outstanding dedication of the TCi team. Activities ranged from dress-down Fridays to sporting sweepstakes, with the board of directors leading the charge in epic challenges.
Chairman Adrian Sealey and managing director Alex Perkis conquered the heights of Kilimanjaro, while project directors Callum Bowden and Chris Pyne faced a demanding 15km Tough Mudder. Other feats included a skydive by financial director Alex Slee and a 36km swim-run endurance challenge around the North Devon coastline by construction director Jim Capron.
Additional fundraising initiatives, such as a team entry into the Croyde Triathlon, a meat raffle, and a bicycle repair workshop, contributed to the overall success. Marketing and sustainability manager Ben Gibbs cycled to Spain and even a sweepstake on a staff member's baby added to the diverse activities.
The TCi team not only met but surpassed their original target of £10,000, raising an impressive £12,498.95. Jim Capron, construction director and coastal athlete, expressed immense pride in everyone involved, acknowledging the support from supply chain partners, clients, industry colleagues and families.
Beyond monetary contributions, TCi provided support in various forms, including IT and office equipment, furniture donations, and assistance with refurbishing Family Compass's headquarters at the former Barnstaple Town Station. Staff also contributed 70 Easter eggs and 80 Christmas chocolate selection boxes for distribution to children using the service.
Family Compass CEO and co-founder, Keda Johnstone, expressed gratitude for TCi's overwhelming support, highlighting the positive impact on children's lives. The funds raised by TCi significantly contributed to the Inhale/Exhale community project, supporting nearly a hundred local families.
Megan concluded by urging continued support for Family Compass. In 2024, TCi has committed to sponsoring local veteran para-athlete Jon White as he strives to compete in the Paris 2024 Paralympic games, raising funds for his patronage of the Royal Marines Charity.
