Pictures: Ilfracombe braves the rain for Remembrance Sunday parade

Remembrance Sunday 2025 was a damp affair in Ilfracombe but it did not prevent a large crowd turning out and many local organisations joining the annual parade

The Remembrance Sunday parade in Ilfracombe always sees a good turnout and this year was no exception as organisations in the town took their places to pay respects to those fallen in conflict.

The Ilfracombe Royal British Legion event saw the town’s veterans, uniformed and youth groups join the parade along Wilder Road to the war memorial by Holy Trinity Church.

Including a contingent from RMB Chivenor, the parade featured Ilfracombe RNLI, sea and army cadets, St John Ambulance, Scouts, Guides and Brownies, alongside the Mayor and town councillors.

At the war memorial, there was the traditional Act of Remembrance, followed by a service in the parish church, before the parade reformed and made its way back.
