Halloween fun at Torrington and Bideford markets draws crowds

Community events feature magic shows, pumpkin carving, and dog costumes

Great Torrington and Bideford Pannier Markets were buzzing with Halloween activities over the weekend (October 26-27), thanks to South West Event Management Solutions CIC.

The local not-for-profit, focused on community events, organised magic shows, pumpkin carving, dog shows, and other activities.

Support for the events came from Bideford Town Council and Torrington’s Commons Allotments Charity.

Event organiser Sam Duckworth, new to leading events, credited the South West Event Management team and local stallholder Lauren for their support and ideas, helping make Torrington’s "Wicked Weekend" a success.

Visitors enjoyed the Halloween atmosphere, complete with photo backdrops, a “witch hunt” in the arcade, and a creative “yucky dip” for children.

Meanwhile, Bideford’s Halloween Market embraced a Harry Potter theme, with Jolene Burgess from Raphaels Treatment Rooms helping create magical photo opportunities.

The market also hosted a dog show, craft stations, and a Halloween-themed magic show by Dave Hendy.

Following the weekend’s success, South West Event Management Solutions CIC has more community events lined up, including a Christmas Fair in Great Torrington on November 16, a Wedding Fair in Bideford on November 24, and the Bideford Christmas Light Switch-On on December 1.

Interested traders are invited to join the market community by contacting Sam Duckworth at s-duckworth@hotmail.com
