Victory for Dylan Burston
Bideford Boxing Club’s Dylan Burston has won the Senior Elite Western Counties Light Heavyweight Title in Plymouth for the second consecutive year beating Harvey James from Bath.
Burston got off to a good start, scoring strong stiff shots to back James up to the ropes. In the second round, James worked his way back into the fight boxing and moving on the back foot.
The title was in the balance in the last round but it was Burston who found the extra gears, landing some solid body shots and overhand a to take the split points win.
Alfie Brown made his debut in a skills contest against Paul Jones from the host club Legends ABC. Brown showed plenty of potential for the future, dominating all three rounds with fast hand speed and footwork.
