Ten students from Union Karate-Do, based in North Devon, have recently been selected to represent Team GB Martial Arts at upcoming European and international competitions.

This is a significant achievement for any athlete, but to have a squad of ten from a single local club reach this level is something our whole community can be proud of.

These athletes have shown outstanding dedication, discipline, and sportsmanship over many years of training. Their selection is the result of countless hours in the dojo, balancing school, work, and family commitments while striving to compete at the highest level.

As with most amateur sports, the cost of travel, accommodation, entry fees, and specialist equipment can be substantial. The club is therefore reaching out to local businesses and community supporters who may be willing to sponsor or assist these athletes on their journey to represent Great Britain on the international stage.

If any businesses or individuals would like to get involved, please contact Bobby Ryan from Union Karate-Do on Br.training82@gmail.com
