Bideford’s newest pro boxer Kaidan Symons has been out in Marbella training with the Fury’s ahead of his pro debut.

The training camp was run by Peter Fury, Uncle and former trainer of World Champion Tyson Fury. Cornish middleweight Symons was drafted in for sparring with upcoming prospect James Dean Fury.

Symons now faces an experienced opponent in his debut, former Southern Area Title Challenger Robbie Chapman in Torquay on Saturday.

Manager Richard Grigg said: “Kaidan Symons is a great prospect, he has a great team behind him who have schooled him well in Falmouth. Sparring and training around world class fighters can only have a positive effect on Symons and I’m sure that will show in a successful pro debut on Saturday.”

Experienced pro Aaron Bird features further up the bill on Saturday on the same card, as he takes on former English Title Challenger Harry Mathews. Bird is looking to bounce back after an unsuccessful attempt at the European Title last time out.

Manager Richard Grigg added: “Aaron Bird needs to bounce straight back and show he is still a major force in the light heavyweight division. I know how good Bird is and we have big plans to walk straight back into a big fight if all goes to plan on Saturday. I am full of confidence in Aaron and expecting a masterclass on Saturday.”
