Bideford Boxing Club hosted its annual dinner show at the Durrant House Hotel to a sellout crowd. The show featured eleven bouts with nine boxers in action from the host club.

Tremayne Reeves topped the bill in a local derby against Joe Golding from Braunton for the Western Counties Light Heavyweight Challenge belt.

After a tight first round where both worked behind the jab, it was Reeves who took over. In the second, the right cross from Reeves was hitting home as he went on the front foot. Both boxers put it on the line in the last, going toe-to-toe, both landing big shots but it was Reeves who was finishing the exchanges to win the Belt with a split decision points win where both boxers received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Co-main event Bideford boxer Dre Beer challenged for the Western Counties Featherweight belt against Oliver Pallin from Devonport. Pallin used good footwork in the early stages to nullify Beers attacks.

In the second, Beer started having more success with fast flurries of punches in a tight round. Beer needed a big last round and delivered with non-stop work rate in a good clash of styles as both boxers had success. Some big body shots before the bell slowed Pallin down but it was just too late as the Devonport boxer took the split decision.

The Durrant belt was awarded to James Birch for the best boxer of the night. Fourteen year-old, Birch who was on his debut won with a second round TKO against Theo Ismail from Devonport. Birch dominated with the jab early and followed up in the second with big shots forcing the referee to stop the contest.
